About Us 

The Westside Summer Fest is organized by a group of dedicated partners, volunteers, and sponsors.

The event part of the revitalization of the business districts along Saginaw Street between Stanley and Grand, on Lansing's Westside.

                            


What We Do

 Westside Allianceworks to revitalize the residential and commercial areas along Saginaw and Oakland between Stanley and Grand, using Main Street strategies related to design, promotion, economic restructuring, and building capacity of residents and businesses.

Below are initiatives in progress through Westside Alliance, a program of NorthWest Initiative.

Organization

  • Working to create a stronger ownership for revitalization efforts amongst local business owners and residents
  • Volunteers and partners are critical to all of these efforts. To get involved, contact Jessica Yorko at jessica@nwlansing.org or 517-214-5684
  • Exploring alternative funding sources for 2008 and beyond, including funds for physical improvements such as facade improvements and streetscape enhancements.

Economic Restructuring

  • Working to recruit new investors and businesses to vacant and underused properties.

 

Westside Alliance is a program of NorthWest Initiative, a non-profit organization which seeks to create healthy communities in Northwest Lansing.

Through community engagement and mobilization, the NorthWest Initiative advances the development of healthy, vibrant communities by building capacity to identify needs and formulate strategies to create change.
